The very tip of Istria peninsula wasn’t considered well-suited for serious winemaking until the beginning of 21st century, when young generation of winemakers showed that it can provide for great wines. Being surrounded by the sea, it is the sunniest part of Istria, giving the local varieties an original twist. This is a tour to go for if you prefer aromatic, fruity wines.
Special treat on this tour is vin de rosa, passito-style desert wine traditonally made in the town of Vodnjan, today produced by only a couple of winemakers. As this part of Istria is also where some its best olive oils are produced, you will surely taste a selection of those, too.
